Lecturer I

Dr. Betty Oluwafunso OLOJEDE is a Full Member of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) (Membership No. 3894) and a fully Registered Member of the Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria (QSRBN) (Registration No. 3083). In 2024, she became a certified Carbon Assessment Professional through the Green Building Council of Nigeria (GBCN). She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Quantity Surveying (2018), M.Sc. in Quantity Surveying (2015), and B.Sc. in Quantity Surveying (2010, Second Class Honours-Upper Division) from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife. She has over 10 years of work experience in the private and public sectors.

Currently, she lectures in the Department of Quantity Surveying, OAU, Ile-Ife. She previously had a teaching engagement at Osun State University (UNIOSUN), Osogbo, where she served as the pioneer staff and pioneer Head of the Department of Quantity Surveying before her withdrawal of service to OAU, Ile-Ife. She also had a brief teaching engagement at Redeemer’s University, Ede, before transitioning to UNIOSUN. Altogether, she has over three years of experience in university-level teaching. She has up to 15 publications comprising journal articles and peer-reviewed conference papers published in both local and international outlets, out of which seven are Scopus-indexed. Her research focuses on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) construction procurement, construction sustainability and project management, construction innovations, and gender issues in the built environment. She has professional training in areas including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Building Information Modelling (BIM), Construction Data Analytics, Project Management (PMP-Certified), and Workplace Health and Safety (CIEH Level 3, United Kingdom), towards enhancing her expertise in the Quantity Surveying profession.

Before transitioning into academia, she acquired eight years of practical experience in the public sector, working on the construction of public buildings and water resources projects under the Osun State Government. She served in the Ministry of Works and Transport, and the Office of Water Resources, Rural Development and Community Affairs, and rose to the position of Senior Quantity Surveyor. she also worked with several registered private construction firms in various capacities, which further enriched her professional background.
