Akintayo OPAWOLE BSc. (Akure), MSc.,PhD (Ife), MNIQS, RQS

Prof. Akintayo Opawole is an academic staff member in the Department of Quantity Surveying, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He graduated from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria, in the year 2004, with a First Class in Quantity Surveying. He obtained MSc in Quantity Surveying in 2011, and PhD also in Quantity Surveying with Specialization in Infrastructure Financing (Public Private Partnership) in 2015, both from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Quantity Surveying & Construction Management, University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa, between 2018 and 2019. Prof. Opawole lectured briefly at the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Osun State, in the late 2006. He joined the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, in 2007, where he started with the lowest academic cadre of Graduate Assistant, and rose through the ranks to the status of a Full Professor in 2023. He was the Head of the Department of Quantity Surveying, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, between 2021 and 2023. Prof. Opawole is a scholar with international recognition. He has presented papers in both local and international conferences /seminars. He has over 75 publications, most of which were published in international outlets. He is an Affiliated Research Fellow in the Department of Quantity Surveying & Construction Management, University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa, from 2019 till date. He has been external examiner/ moderator to universities including University of Johannesburg, South Africa, Bells University of Technology, Ota, and Federal Universities of Technology, Akure, among others. He is a reviewer for many local and international journal publishers. He has been an editorial member of Journal of Environmental Design and Management, and Acta Structilia.
