Professor

Professor Olubola Babalola is a Professor of Quantity Surveying at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. She is widely recognized as a trailblazer in the profession, achieving several historic firsts, including being the first female Quantity Surveyor with a PhD in West Africa and the first female Professor of Quantity Surveying in Africa.

At OAU, she has served as Acting Head of Department, two-term Vice Dean, two-term Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Design and Management, Chairperson of the Committee of Deans, and former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic). She was also the first female Dean from the Department of Quantity Surveying.

Professor Babalola is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (FNIQS), former Chairperson of the NIQS Oyo State Chapter, National Leader of the Women Association of Quantity Surveyors in Nigeria, and a registered member of the Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria. She is also affiliated with international professional and research bodies and serves on editorial and scientific committees across Africa and beyond.

A distinguished scholar in Quantity Surveying and Construction Management, she has supervised and examined numerous postgraduate students and has presented papers atconferences in Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. She has received notable fellowships and research grants, including the Carnegie Fellowship (USA) and the British Council Going Global Partnerships Grant.
